Ultimate Effects of Bad Breath in the gum disease

Bad breath is a condition of gum disease in which the patient’s mouth gives bad smell. There are many reasons behind bad breathing like, use of tobacco, alcoholic use, poor oral care, and sometimes any medical condition like, any malfunctioning in stomach or respiratory infection.
Treatment of medically originated bad breath:
If the bad breath is due to any medical abnormality then checkup with a medical physician is recommended so that he/she may diagnose the actual reason to stop this condition.
Treatment of bad breath due to alcoholic use:
If this condition occurs due to use of either spit tobacco, cigarettes, or alcoholic products, then give up the use of such health hazards materials an start drinking fresh water in a higher concentration. That keeps the stomach, kidneys and mouth clean and fresh, preventing the bacteria to accumulate and gives fresh sensation to the mouth.
Treatment of Bad breath formed due to poor oral care:
If the reason is poor oral care then the following best solutions are recommended to quit the bad breath:
• First of all change the brushing routine by doing more brushing along with gargles of warm water.
• Take more Tea, that acts as an antiseptic (bacterial killer), and kills the dangerous oral bacteria from developing the bad smell in the mouth.
• Use of pineapple juice is also one of the best choices for getting rid of bad breathing temporarily.
• Use of sugar must be avoided, in food and drink items, those results in the formation of teeth cavities and ultimately results in the development of bad breath.
• Use Probiotic Yogurt (yogurt consists of healthy or nutritious bacteria), that slowly reduces the population of dangerous bacteria. Daily consumption of this yogurt checks the population of these harmful bacteria and stops them by killing their larva.
• Preventing constipation, by taking regular exercise and fiber rich food, that makes the bowl moment normal and avoid the bad breath caused by constipation.
• Rinsing mouth with salt that kills the oral; bacteria and heel any wound caused due to gum disease.
• Use the baking soda rich toothpaste, or do gargles with baking soda water, that prevents the growth of bad smell producing bacteria over the surface of tongue.
• Chewing of sunflower or mint leaves, after taking meal will clean the mouth and spreads a fresh air inside the mouth.
Finally it is concluded to use any of the household remedies for avoiding bad breath that leads to the development of a silent disease called periodontitis, which sometimes badly damage the overall facial shape, depriving a many lives from a healthy smile. Common drugs for type 2 diabetes and their side effects

SULFONYLUREAS:
These drugs stimulate pancreas to release more insulin. They include chlorpropamide (Diabinase), tolazamide (Tolinase), glipizide (Glucotrol), tolbutamide (O
rinase), glimepiride (Amaryl) e.t.c Side Effects include weight gain, fluid retention, and a slightly increased risk of a cardiac event such as heart attack.
MEGLITINIDES: These drugs stimulate your beta cells to produce insulin, they include repaglinde (Prandin), nateglinide (Starlix), and mitiglinide. Side effects include diarrhea, headache, and a slightly increased risk of a cardiac event such as a heart attack.
BIGUANIDES; The only drug now available in this group is metformin (Glucophage). Although the mechanism of action is not fully understood, metformin probably works by making your cells more sensitive to impulime be reducing glucose production in your liver. Metformin doesn't cause weight gain or fluid retention. Side effects include nausea, diarrhea and a metallic taste in the mouth. People with heart failure or kidney disease should not take this drug.
THIAZOLIDINEDIONES: Also known as TZDs or glitazones, these include rosiglitazone (Avandia) and pioglitazone (Actos). These drugs improve your sensitivity to insulin. They are usually prescribed in combination with other diabetes drug. Side effects include weight gain, fluid retention, anemia, and liver problems. These drugs can be very risky for people with heart failure.
COMBINATION THERAPY; The combination of metformin and glyburide (Glucovance) is often used to increase insulin sensitivity and to help your pancreas release more insulin. Side effects include diarrhea and hypoglycemia
INSULIN: If your diabetes has progressed and you can no longer produce much or any insulin, you may need to administer additional insulin. Insulin use is complex; miscalculated doses an lead to hypoglycemic episodes. Side effects: insulin usually causes weight gain.

CONSEQUENCIES OF OVER CONSUMPTION OF LIQUID CANDY

Over consumption of liquid candy
The consequences of over consumption of liquid candy is common with kids. Of all the things kids and adults shouldn't be consuming, sugary drinks top the list. Fruit juice may sound healthy, but it's really not much more than pure sugar in the form of fructose, without any of the fiber and other nutrients from whole fruit. (It takes eight to ten oranges to produce one glass of orange juice.) Recently, a number of supposedly healthy milk-based drinks have become popular, but they are crammed with added sugar. The worst of the worst, though, is most carbonated beverages. A typical can of what nutritionalists call

"liquid candy"

is so heavily sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup that it contains the equivalent of up to 10 teaspoons of sugar, to say nothing of the caffeine in many of them, which is associated with headaches, irritability, and sleeplessness. The average teen today gets about 8 percent of his or her daily calories from soda and other sweetened soft drinks; teenage boys are heavy consumers of soda, often drinking three or more cans a day. In connection with one of my recent article Consequences of childhood obesity, there's a direct link between soft drink consumption and weight gain. For every 12-ounce can of soda a youngster drinks each day, the risk of weight gain and becoming obese goes up.
The weight gain from soda is bad enough, but these drinks also displace other, more nutritionous foods. Today, many teens fall short of the recommended intake DRI of one or more of the following nutrients: vitamins A, B, C, E, and the minerals calcium, iron, and zinc. This is especially dangerous, as young bodies in particular need these nutrients in the proper amounts to continue normal growth and development.

HEALTH EFFECTS OF TOBACCO

Nicotine, the brain poison found in tobacco, is one of the most deadly poisons known to man. Half a drop of pure nicotine is a lethal dose and for it there is no antidote. The first use of tobacco brings on these symptoms of poisoning: nausea, dizziness, and vomiting. As the body becomes accustomed to the poison, these symptoms disappear, but the poisoning of the body continues. The desired narcotic effect is felt. The user of tobacco must, like users of any other narcotic drug, continually increase the amount he uses if he is to continue to get the pleasant feeling he desires. And what is worse, he finds he is unable to live comfortably without it.

EFFECTS OF TOBACCO:

From a pharmacological view point, nicotine is hurtful regardless of which method of intake is used, smoking (either pipe, cigar or cigarette) or chewing. Its effects are observable on the nerves, the blood-vessels and the tissues of the lips and mouth, which come into direct contact with it. Tobacco is habit-forming because of the effect that it has on the nerves. It first subdues tension and then stimulates the body. When people are under pressure they desire nothing more than something to quiet their frayed nerves. Such tranquility they seem to find in lighting up a cigarette. Only a small amount of nicotine comes with the first puff, but it is powerful enough to immediately subdue the poison. So the person goes merrily on smoking the rest of the cigarette, utterly unaware of the fact that soon after the cigarette is finished, the nicotine turns about and stimulates him, setting up a craving for another cigarette. Thus the smoker is caught in a vicious circle, and soon becomes a slave to the habit. Nor does it end there. It has been established beyond doubt that the tars that accompany the smoke have a very strong carcinogenic effect on the lining of the trachea and the lungs. This accounts for the most frightening verdict of modern medical research: smokers face a higher risk of contracting lung cancer than do non-smokers. The ratio is 10 to 1. Proved by laboratory tests and established by statistical research, this fact alone is enough to condemn the use of tobacco in any form.

Chewing tobacco also has a very similar cancerous effect

. As the wad is held between the cheek and the gums, the tar in tobacco begins to act on the tissues, and this explains the enormous increase in cases of cancer of the jaw among tobacco chewers. Experiments have shown that cancer can be started on a rabbit's ear by keeping tobacco tar on it for some time. Medical research has also revealed that tobacco has alarming effect on the blood-vessels to contract immediately. The nicotine absorbed from smoking one cigarette will cause the blood-vessels of the body to contract so that the temperature of the feet will drop 1.8C. This dismal prospect should specially be noted by those who are older and whose blood-vessels are narrowed by arteriosclerosis  for such contraction may close the artery altogether and cause a stroke, a heart attack or gangrene of the leg. It is hard to determine to what extent tobacco might affect the health of the growing foetus in a pregnant mother; but to subject an infant from its very conception to such a voilent poison as nicotine is something every woman should ponder well before taking that first puff. A nursing mother who smokes gives off enough nicotine in her milk to equal, relatively speaking, the toxic dose for a man. In other words, if a man should take in the amount of nicotine for each pound of his body weight that a nursing baby gets through its smoking mother's milk, he would get sick. But the baby does not get sick, for it has been thoroughly addicted before birth. Hence the cigarette-addicted mother is unwittingly laying the foundation for a craving to smoke in her child who may therefore take to smoking at an early age. Experts now know that breathing in someone else's secondhand smoke is hazardous to our health. Secondhand smoking, is twice as bad as lighting up a cigarette. I know that it is difficult to break off using tobacco but not impossible. One should try as much as he can to break off the habit.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF TEA

Most people that drink tea on a regular basis do not know the health benefits of tea. Tea-either black tea, green tea can have a positive effect on your health. Consistent studies of large group of people have shown that those who drink the most tea also have the lowest risk of heart disease. In a study of men and women in the Boston, shows that the participants who drank at least 1 cup of tea a day had 44% lower risk of heart attack than those who drank no tea.
Not neglecting the fact that it can also be helpful in controlling blood sugar, in Taiwan, twenty people with diabetes who were taking an antihyperglycemic drug were randomly assigned also to drink either 1,500ml (about 6 cups) of oolong tea (a type of tea that is halfway between black and green) or an equal amount of plain water every day for 30 days. They switched of and repeated the process. The researchers found that after 30 days of tea drinking, the participants had markedly lower blood sugar levels. There was no change after 30 days of drinking plain water. Probably the catechins and other chemicals called polyphenols in tea, not the caffeine that have the beneficial effect.
A daily cup or two brewed black or green tea could be beneficial to your health in overall and can even help speed up weight loss.A daily cup or two brewed black or green tea could be beneficial to your health in overall and can even help speed up weight loss. Tea can help keep your bones strong as you age. A study of over 1,200 older British women found that those who drank tea had higher bone mineral density levels in their spines and hips than those who drank no tea at all, because higher bone mineral density generally means a lower risk of fracture (from falling, for example), it appears that tea had a definite protective effect for these women.
There is some suggestive evidence that green tea could increase your metabolic rate and slightly help speed up weight loss. A recent study of ten healthy young men showed that when they took capsules containing caffeine or fiber. In other words, the green tea extract made their metabolism run faster so they burned more fat. The study is a small one, done on healthy young men in a highly controlled setting. It is recomended to drink 1 to 2 cups of tea (especially brewed green tea) daily. Brewed green tea has the most catechins and polyphenols and the least caffeine, with only about 30mg to 40mg per 6-ounce cup. There's no reason not to sweeten the tea with your favovrite sugar sustitute if you like.

DO YOU KNOW THAT TOMATOES CAN HELP PREVENT STROKE?

A daily cup or two brewed black or green tea could be beneficial to your health in overall and can even help speed up weight loss. The health benefits of tomatoes are not in doubt anymore. Tomatoes contains vitamin C, and lycopene. Lycopene is an antioxidant that experts say can protect from stroke. Research has shown that fruits rich in lycopene such as tomatoes, pink grapefruit, pawpaw, watermelon, and guava, may help lower the risk of prostate and other cancers. New study have found that tomato is a rich source of lycopene which may help reduce the risk of suffering a stroke by half a more. Cooked tomatoes tend to have a greater effect on blood levels of lycopene than raw tomatoes or tomato juice. Cooking breaks down tomato's cell walls and makes it easier for your body to absorb the antioxidants. But tomato juice is rich in nutrients such as magnesium, potassium, zinc, fluoride, vitamins A, C, organic acids and more. Researchers found that men with highest levels of lycopene were at half the risk of suffering a stroke than men with this lowest levels of this chemical substance. Stroke is more common than most people realize  Nearly 90% of the strokes that take place in Nigeria is Ischemic strokes, which occur as a result of a blockage (usually a clot) in a blood vessel that supplies blood to the brain. A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a weakened blood vessel ruptures. There is a growing incidence of strokes in people between the ages of 18 and 65 due to obesity and uncontrolled high blood pressure. A stroke takes place in the brain. If the blood supply to the neurons (nervous cells in the brain) in the brain is cut off either because of a blood clot or a disease of the blood vessels, those neurons die. That's what a stroke is. Although strokes do run in families, it is both preventable and treatable. Tomatoes also improves immune function, prevents blood from clotting.
